Animal Habitats

Lesson Objective: Students will demonstrate the basic knowledge of habitats. Including the animals, plant life, and physical charecteristics of each habitat taught.

Subject Matter Content Standard:

First grade Life Science

2. Plants and animals meet their needs in differnt ways. As a basis for understanding this concept.
  • Students know different plants and animals inhabit different kinds of environments and have external features that help them thrive in differnt kinds of places.
  • Model a habitat for an organism in which all of its needs would be met.

Background:

As a class we will be looking at what a habitat is. This will include charecteristics of a variety of habitats as well as the animals that live in each habitat and the plant life that grows there. Using the websites listed below you will be able to better illistrate what a habitat consists of.

  1. We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop. See the link below for more info.
